Crop Shear Optimization Systems
Vision System: A high speed CCD camera is used to capture the images of the head and tail end of the transfer bar. Pattern recognition software intelligently analyzes the image and precisely determines the complete profile of the bar. The optimum cut line is determined by the computer based upon the shape of the bar and the matrix of strategies.
Control System: The Control System ensures that the shear cuts the transfer bar exactly at the optimum cut line. A four-axis motion controller measuring the speed of the transfer bar near the shear does this.
Bingo Width Gauge
Two high-resolution linear array CCD cameras mounted in a triangulation arrangement are used to measure accurate width of the transfer bar in the roughing mill or strip at the finishing trains of a hot strip mill.
Slab Length & Width Measurement System - Furnace Charging Tables and / or Slab Casters.
Vizimation has developed this Slab Dimension Measurement System utilizing proprietary technologies of structured-light lasers and CCD cameras. Laser light sources project lines of light across the length and width of the slabs, on the top surface. When the slab rolls beneath the sensor module, the laser lines are projected upon the top surface of the slab. At the edges of the slab, the transverse laser lines appears to end as it projects down. Lighting the slabs in the manner makes the system insensitive to variations in slab temperature, cold slab edges, or scale on the slab surface.
Slab Width Measurement - Laser Triangulation Type
A pair of laser triangulation sensors mounted at pass-line level continuously measured the width of a slab as it moves down the roll table. This type of measurement is very useful on the furnace charging table and at the vertical scale breaker where mounting arrangements of lasers and cameras above the roll table are difficult due to crane movement. The sensors are mounted in a water and air cooled enclosure. The workstation provides a color graphic display showing slab width and width profile across the length.
